About Us

A calm team helping small businesses work more clearly

Sinar Works was founded in Singapore with one purpose: to make AI tools accessible and genuinely useful to small offices, without the noise.

Our Story

How Sinar Works came to be

Sinar Works grew out of a straightforward observation: many small business owners in Singapore were hearing a great deal about AI tools but finding the conversation more confusing than helpful. The offerings were often designed with larger organisations in mind, and the language used was rarely plain or practical.

We started by working quietly with a handful of local offices — a small logistics firm, a neighbourhood dental practice, a two-person translation service — and each time the experience was the same. When approached with patience and clarity, the people running these businesses were entirely capable of using AI tools well. They simply needed someone to explain what was useful, what was not, and how to connect the pieces sensibly.

That is still what we do. We have kept the business small on purpose. Our view is that a smaller, focused team can give you more attention and more honest advice than a large consultancy with other interests at play.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Our mission is modest and clear: to help the owners and staff of small Singapore businesses spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on the work that actually requires them.

We do this by finding out how your team actually works day to day, identifying the points where well-chosen tools could free up real attention, and then configuring those tools carefully so they run quietly in the background.

Patient progress over rushed change

We move at a pace your team is comfortable with.

Transparency in everything

We share what we find, including when the answer is "not yet."

Relationships over transactions

We prefer steady partnerships to one-off engagements without follow-through.

The Team

The people you work with

A small team with complementary backgrounds, all based in Singapore.

RH

Rizal Hashim

Founder & Lead Consultant

Rizal has spent twelve years working with small and mid-sized businesses on operations and process improvement. He founded Sinar Works after noticing how much useful time was lost to tasks that did not require a human.

PL

Priya Lakshmanan

Integration Specialist

Priya handles the technical side of each engagement — connecting tools to existing systems, testing them until they run reliably, and writing clear notes so clients understand what has been put in place and why.

WJ

Wei Jian Ng

Client Support & Training

Wei Jian leads the staff walkthrough sessions and remains the main point of contact for Steady Beam retainer clients. He is known for explaining technical concepts in a way that sticks.

How We Work

Standards we hold ourselves to

These are the commitments that shape every engagement, from a one-session consultation to a long-term retainer.

Data handling with care

We observe Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act in all engagements and assess any tool we recommend for how it manages client data before suggesting it.

Written records at every stage

Every engagement produces written notes — opportunity maps, configuration summaries, and quarterly reviews — so you are never dependent on memory or word of mouth.

Honest assessment before work begins

We share our candid view of what is worth pursuing before any integration work starts. If the effort does not appear justified, we say so in the session summary.

Staff readiness, not just technical fit

A tool is only useful if your team feels comfortable with it. We include a staff walkthrough in every integration and pace it to the room.

Regular check-ins, not just setup and leave

For retainer clients, we monitor tools month to month and provide quarterly summaries. For project clients, we follow up after the fortnight of post-integration support.

No vendor dependency

We do not have commercial arrangements with the tools we recommend. Our suggestions are shaped entirely by what fits your situation, not by what earns a referral.

Our Expertise

AI integration as a practical skill, not a trend

At Sinar Works, we approach AI integration as a practical trade. The tools exist, they have genuine uses, and applying them well requires knowing your client's work rather than knowing the tools alone. That is the combination we bring to each engagement.

Singapore's small business landscape is notably varied — service businesses, professional offices, small manufacturing and trade operations, family-run firms at various stages of growth. What connects them is that the people running them are stretched. Administrative work, follow-up communications, scheduling, document handling: these tasks accumulate and pull attention away from the areas where a business owner or team member genuinely adds value.

AI-assisted tools — used sensibly and configured to fit existing systems — can reduce the weight of routine work for small teams. This is not a claim about transformation. It is an observation drawn from working with offices that have tried these tools with our support and found their days a little cleaner as a result.

Our In Focus Session exists because we believe the first step should be exploratory and low-stakes. A single working session to review your routines and mark honest opportunities costs a modest amount and leaves you with something written you can act on at any pace. The Focused Integration and Steady Beam Retainer are for teams ready to move further, at the pace that suits them.

We are based at Alexandra Technopark and work with clients across Singapore. If you are a small business owner wondering whether any of this applies to your situation, the most straightforward way to find out is a conversation.
